’11-11 Memories Retold’ Will Change War Games Forever

A New Emotional Journey

11-11 Memories Retold is looking to become the latest indie breakout game. The game looks to go back to a common video game type in a completely new way. 11-11 is going to show war, like we’ve never seen before in a video game. Call of Duty and the Battlefield series are some of the most popular games on any console. They have explored both world wars and even imagined what future wars will be like. During their gameplay they have touched on some of the emotional points of being in war. Those invested in the stories of these games saw the hardship, but as the years have gone by, the games seem to have lost the focus on realism. 11-11 Memories Retold looks to bring back the real stories and take the player on an emotional rollercoaster.

Set in World War I, the war to end all wars, this game is set to be focused on two soldiers brought together. 11-11 is most likely alluding to November 11, 1918, Armistice Day. This was the day the war officially ended. Taking that into consideration, the game may take you on a journey from the beginning of the war to the end, or just focus on the final days of the conflict. The trailer shows us beautiful watercolor-style art and lines from a poem Flanders Fields. It’s about death, and so may the game be. It’s depressing, I know, but maybe a beautiful monument to those who have passed. The game looks to bring a high level of emotion and weight to war.

Wallace & Gromit Connection

The game has an interesting connection to a fairly famous claymation studio. Aardman Animation Studios, who brought the world Wallace & Gromit, is teaming up with an unlikely group to bring this indie passion project to life. Bandai Namco, the studio that gave us Tekken and Soulcalibur, is working together with Aardman and DigixArt. These studios aim to bring this soulful game to life. They will also make sure it gets in front of as many people as possible. The benefit of teaming up with a bigger studio is just that – a way to get more eyes on the game. With such an emotional game, they may need a little help. While indie games have become more popular in recent years, something like this will still lose out to Call of Duty when it comes to war games. Hopefully, this new game will live up to the beauty of the trailer and hopefully, it will be a success.
