Matrix 4 & 5 In The Works, May Be 3D

How cool would it have been if the original Matrix trilogy was in 3D. The epic fight scenes, the matrix cam, it would have been so awesome. Well, fans of the series may be able to see just that in a few years time if two other movies are made. While nothing is final yet, Keanu Reeves said in a Keynote speech to the London School of Performing Arts that there two scripts written for a Matrix 4 and 5.

The writers of the trilogy, the Wachowskis, have discussed with James Cameron, the director of Avatar, to discuss the 3D aspect of it. On top of that, Reeves said that he would be returning to the roll of Neo in the next two movies. More information after the break.

While there isn’t a verbatim transcript of what Reeves said, the following is a what a commenter wrote from the lecture.

“Says he met the Wachowskis… for lunch over Christmas, and stated that they had completed work on a two-picture script treatments that would see him return to the world of the matrix as Neo. Says the Wachowskis have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pro’s and con’s of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen again. Keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title “The Matrix” and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionize the action genre like the first movie. Wachowskis are working on a movie called “Cloud Atlas” at the moment, once that concludes they will talk again.”

Something that was also mentioned was another movie by the Wachowskis which would a futuristic version of Robin Hood, called Hood, which will be staring Will Smith. It will be nice to have Smith back in acting after a small hiatus in which he did some directing. I have high hopes for Hood as Smith picks the movies he appears in.
