April Fool’s Joke: Verizon Will Launch Both Droid Bionic And iPhone 5 On June 9?

It appears that both the Motorola Droid Bionic and the Apple iPhone 5 will launch on the same day, June 9th. Verizon has a background of releasing phones on Thursdays, and it turns out that June 9th is in fact a Thursday. But it is also the week of Apple’s WWDC conference. There have been rumors recently that Apple would not be announcing or releasing a new phone at that conference, but it seems that may not happen anymore.
Update: I think it’s now pretty safe to say that this was an April Fools joke. The Droid Guy had some obvious points in his comment that I failed to see. He pointed out the fine print of this page, which talks about stereotypes and such, not something a big company would do. Also check out the iPhones specs, 16-32GB on-board ‘geebez’ for reals? How did I miss that one.

A couple of things here. We know from all of the previous apple iphone releases that they dont release the actual specs of any device before the unveiling date, typically at WWDC in June.
Next. The fine print under the picture says Due to an expected record demand for both devices we’ll ask that CSR’s read the stereotyping guide for both Bionic and iPhone 5 to help move sales at a faster rate. Details include the tightness of their clothing, thickness of glasses rims, attitude, size of European shoulder bag and the continued insistence of having a phone with a white back.
