In the run up to the release of the eagerly awaited Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, the third game in the series, Ubisoft has been releasing videos left, right and centre, including the main theme tune, showing off what Ezio will have to face. However what has not been covered in great detail is the where the game will be set. Following the events of Brotherhood, Ezio must travel to Constantinople, the crossroads of the world, and continue to hunt for keys to unlock a powerful weapon hidden deep within the Assassin’s fortress at Masyaf. From the gameplay we have seen , Ezio will spend a considerable amount of time with the Assassin’s Order in Constantinople. The recently released video gives an idea of the back story and what issues Ezio will face while in Constantinople.
In Rome we had the Borgias, in Constantinople it appears we have the a “rebellious faction” of Byzantine forces (you may want to brush up on your history before playing!). The un-named narrator describes how Constantinople is being eroded by violence and a vicious power struggle is taking place. One thing that has been circling is that the narrator may be Malik, Altair’s one armed friend from the first game. As for Ezio, it would appear that we will be back to saving innocent civilians from thugs and using the various city factions such as the thieves to find out who is a the bottom of this revolt.
