How does 50GB of cloud storage sound to you? Would it sound even better if it was free? 50GB of free cloud storage, say it’s true! Yes, Virginia it is indeed true. Box is offering up a slice of their cloud service, on the house, to owners of LG and Sony Ericsson Android phones. That’s a lot of..ahem…art films to watch at your leisure. Or photos, documents, pdfs, I mean really the sky’s the limit here. Well to be precise 50GB is the limit here but you geeks get the idea.
LG is already set up for users to partake of this bounty, they can head over to the Android Market to download the app. Once they sign up, everything should be ready to rumble. Sony is planning on hammering everything out soon, presumably by year’s end. The process will be the same as LG’s: download, install, sign up, float away in the cloud. Recently, Box handed out this perk to users of the iVariety of devices. It’s nice to see they haven’t forgot about the rest of the world. The only question left, what about other phones? Samsung, perhaps?
