There’s a lot of scary types out there that go bump in the night. Werewolves, vampires (non-glittery ones), hobgoblins, Pinheads. None of them can claim the crown, one that belongs to a stone faced killer. He has been around since time began, taking souls beyond the ether and dropping them in their final stomping grounds. His visage makes the toughest tough guy cry for his mama, he can fell the mightiest beast. He is one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. He is eternal. He is Death.

Darksiders 2 takes Death and has players guide him as he attempts to prove his brother War’s innocence. If you remember, Was was wrongly convicted of starting kick starting the Apocalypse early. This doesn’t set well with Death so he goes on a furious rampage and swings in a place between Heaven and Hell, calling forth righteous retribution in his brother’s name. The sequel runs at the same time as the first game, giving gamers a side look at events, putting a new spin on the end of the world. Look at him up there, he’s the first Wolverine!

Darksiders was a complete sleeper hit with me. I picked it up on a spur of the moment purchase and didn’t put it down until I had beaten it. It was just an awesome game and I am geek giddy over the sequel. Hit the break to check out a few more screens and the new Death Eternal trailer. Darksiders 2 is slated to hit this summer, rumored to be June. Any geeks going to pre-order it?
