I must warn you now, enormous spoilers ahead! Although they are not major plot spoilers, you may want to avert your eyes if you want everything about The Avengers to remain a surprise.

Now for you hardy few that have not closed your eyes, we move onto the actual news. The Avengers is the first film of its type that brings together a whole host of epic super heroes together in one ultimate fighting force. This nearly happened in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with an appearance from Ryan Renynolds as a fairly shocking Wade Wilson (a.k.a Deadpool) but that was a bit of a failure. The Avengers offers something more promising, bringing together the likes of Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye and of course Nick Fury. But in recent news, it would seems that another masked hero will be making an appearance along side the team. More after the break…

In an interview with Radio Times Jenny Agutter, who will be in The Avengers but also played Alex Price in American Werewolf in London,  said that when she arrived on set there were Winnebago’s reserved for the likes of Iron Man but also one other…Spider-man. Yes Spider-man. Of course no-one knows if Spidey will definitely appearing but it will be pretty cool if he does. We also don’t know if it will be The Amazing Spider-Man joining The Avengers, played by Andrew Garfield, especially as The Avengers comes out before The Amazing Spider-Man (which releases 3rd  of July). Only time will tell as we countdown to the 4th of May.
