Maxis is looking to rebuild the SimCity series with a new game

It has been a while since Maxis has brought out an entirely new game, especially not a SimCity game. The most recent addition to the franchise was SimCity: Societies which was not a massive hit, but Maxis, looking to revive the classic franchise, announced on the 5th March that they are releasing a new Sim City game. Simply named SimCity, the title is expected to be released some time in 2013 and will be the first SimCity game to feature online play. Although the trailer is not representative of game play, it still looks pretty awesome:
