There’s An App For Everything Except For YouTube.

Apple has confirmed that the Google owned YouTube will not be making an appearance in the upcoming iOS 6 update. Monday Apple released a new version of iOS 6 beta to developers and suspiciously YouTube was missing. First this was thought to have been a bug but just like Google Maps the app for YouTube has been removed permanently. An Apple spokesperson gave the following reason, “Our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended, customers can still use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new app to be on the App Store.”

I can almost understand Apple’s ditching Google Maps in favor of their own Map App but I really don’t see the logic behind not including YouTube. As much as I love my Apple gadgets this is one of their business practices that I’m not crazy about. It won’t stop iPhone/iPad owners from using YouTube it will now just be slightly less convenient accessing it.  With that being said I’ll be first in line to pre-order the iPhone 5 which can’t get here soon enough.
