Injustice: Gods Among Us attempting to fix DLC fighter problems.

Besides being a kick-ass fighting game starring DC’s mightiest heroes and villians, Injustice: Gods Among Us might finally fix that annoying DLC incompatibility issue we sometimes run into. Some gamers download every fighter as soon as they become available while some bide their time and concentrate on the core combatants included in the original release. Different ways for different folks to enjoy the game, except when it comes to online brawling. Usually both parties must have the additional characters on their console even if one isn’t using them if one gamer wants to trade fists as a DLC fighter. Makes online matchmaking very frustrating and oft times demoralizing.

NetherRealm Studios, the team behind the game and the recent Mortal Kombat reboot, plans on making that irritation a thing of the past. The devs want to set it up so the fighters will download unto your console while you’re playing, leaving the necessary info ready for online war. You still won’t be able to play as them, unless you pay for them, but you would be able to play against someone who spent the cash.  So explains Ed Boon, the man -

“We want to come up with a way to push all that information onto people’s machines so if I buy some character that was available for download, you would have it on your machine and I would be able to fight against you online. We’re coming up with a great automated system to make sure I can use my character against anybody and everything’s compatible.”

Here’s hoping they can pull it off and it becomes a standard feature for all online capable console games. Could you imagine if map packs were like this?
