Metal Gear fans, we have a lot to look forward to! [VIDEO]

With this being the 25th Anniversary of the blockbuster Tactical Stealth series, Metal Gear, we were bound to get some goodies to pump that blood. We were treated to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance last year and have continued to have more gorgeous assets fall into our laps on a seemingly daily basis. Not scheduled to come out until February 13th of next year, the game has certainly caught the eye of many a fan. At first it was mostly negative but by now I believe even the most die-hard fan is warming up to it.

Raiden was the sucker, the joke of MGS 2 but his return in MGS 4 as the new, more bad-ass Cyborg Ninja gave all of us pause. Now he’s on a mission after the fall of the Patriots. Cyborgs are becoming mainstream with the technology hanging out like Lindsey Lohan‘s naughty bits. Rogue PMCs are using the tech to disrupt lives, Raiden is here to stop them. Unlike Metal Gears of the past, this is no sneaking mission. This is pure, unadulterated action! Hack and slash with Raiden’s high frequency katana, duel other blade wielding psychos and carve out a path of righteous destruction! Sure it’s non-canon but damn if it doesn’t look like a ton of fun.

If the path of Raiden doesn’t soothe that ache for Metal Gear, how about the mysterious Metal Gear: Ground Zeroes? Take another romp as Snake’s daddy, Big Boss in what looks like an attempt to smack around Zero? One thing is certain, that video is certainly more than a simple tech demo. It sticks to Kojima’s pattern of lengthy introductory cinemas and fourth wall breaking gags. Highly doubtful this game will see a launch on the current gen of consoles, it does however give us a glimpse into what a first wave of games could be like on the PS4. One game to keep our eyes on long into the future.

One more bit of good news for us is the recent announcement that Avi Arad is working with Columbia Pictures to get a Metal Gear Solid movie up and running. Arad has had a hand in a significant amount of blockbuster comic book movies such as Spider-Man. The producer knows the fans have fears about a quick cash in movie with this to say - ”We will take our time and tell the story with all the nuances, ideology, cautionary tales needed “. No mention of a release date, director or actors, just Arad joking around about dream bills. I feel as of now we can rest assured our beloved franchise is in good hands.

I’m curious as to what, if any, of these future products have piqued your interest. Hit me up in the comments and sound off!
