Sony started the Tokyo Game Show festivities off early with an unwrapping of the newer, slimer-er PlayStation 3. That’s right, an even smaller version than the last slim model. This version is said to be 50% smaller than the original PS3 and 25% slimmer than even the slim. The first bundle comes with the charcoal black PS3, a 250GB hard drive and a copy of Uncharted 3: GOTY and will release on September 25th for $269. A white model was also announced but as of yet we don’t know if it will go anywhere but Japan.
On tap for an October 30th release will be a 500GB charcoal version hitting just in time for Assassin’s Creed III. No mention of an ACIII bundle or pricing but don’t expect Sony to bypass a great bundle opportunity. All models will require a separate purchased stand to sit up vertically. Wait, does anybody do that anymore? Those looking for a better networking adapter should look elsewhere, no Wireless N support here.
So any dwarven geeks out there need a teeny, tiny PS3? Or does this remind you of the end of the PS2′s life? Let’s hear it after the break!
