Did you order your fancy new iPhone 5 from BestBuy? If so sorry for your luck as you may be waiting upwards of a month before the stores can fulfill all of their orders. Many customers were issued emails from BestBuy breaking the bad news that they would not be receiving their pre-ordered iPhone 5 this weekend. Instead of an iPhone you received a promise that your pre-order would be in sometime by mid-October but no later than 28 days from launch.

Sales of the iPhone 5 have been quite impressive and all Internet pre-orders for launch day models sold out within 24 hours. Of course you were notified immediately when the order was placed if you weren’t getting the phone today. The tragedy here is that BestBuy promised many customers a launch day iPhone 5 but in the end couldn’t deliver. There’s a sample of the email BestBuy sent out after the break, check it out.

I ordered my white iPhone 4 online at the Apple store and it was virtually a pain-free experience. I received my phone today on time as promised making for one very happy geek.
