If you own an iPhone 4 or 4S you may want to skip the iOS 6 update. It’s being widely reported users with the afore-mentioned models are experiencing extreme battery draining with the new iOS. Some users are reporting their fully charged battery drops from 100% to 50% in a few hours despite the phone being in standby.
It’s been suggested that the Maps and the Passbook app are the guiltiest of stealing battery power and that turning off location services will provide a temporary fix. It’s fairly common for battery issues to arrive with a new iOS. Last year the iOS 5 release was also met with many reports of excessive battery loss. I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 but a few days later I upgraded to the iPhone 5 so I didn’t notice a difference in loss of battery with the iPhone 4 in the short time I used it.
