Seems the home of great beer and VW bugs is not too keen on the newest installment of the Painkiller series, Hell & Damnation. I guess the evilness factor of the game is enough to scare the knickers off the German ratings board. What this effectively means is the game won’t be available for sale in the country although the previous games squeaked through under an age 18 rating. Because of that new nugget of info, Nordic Games wants to let all of you know that the game is just a game and “not a monster hell-bent on ruining the minds of the masses”.
The publisher sent over a demon sack sized bunch of images including game screens and pics of the newly announced Collector’s Edition. The CE is going to be a 2 DVD\1 CD set with the game on one disc, a making of on another and the CD will be the game’s soundtrack. Also tucked inside will be an artbook, some Painkiller stickers, a couple of postcards and two posters. A couple of pieces of DLC will also be included, a Tarot card powerup and an exclusive multiplayer skin. All that for a measly $29.99! The standard version will run for $19.99 and both versions will be available for eager gamers on Halloween, October 31st.
Hit the break for a smattering of game shots and a look at the CE. Hit the Painkiller site for pre-order info and even more goodness. Be forewarned though, these shots can be a bit gore-ish.
