Did you pre-order Borderlands 2? Of course you did, you wanted in on the Premiere Club! You got the golden guns, the relic and the golden key. The only thing missing is the fifth class, the Mechromancer. Gearbox initially promised it soon after launch, then they said October 16th. Since then, we’ve had to contend with them handing out Shift codes on Twitter while we wait for Gage to join the ranks of the looters and shooters. Finally the wait is no more!

Amid the Tweets about surprises from Gearbox, Randy Pitchford dropped the revelation that we could slaughter Bullymongs as Gage and her BFF, DeathTrap, a bit sooner than promised. Today in fact. That’s right, Gearbox pulled off a Borderlands challenge and pushed through a piece of DLC early. Most times a company has to tell us it got shoved back but Borderlands just won’t put up with that nonsense.

It might take a bit of time for the character to populate to the various marketplaces but it will be available by the end of the day. If you for some rare reason didn’t pre-order, you can still get in on the DLC action for the smooth price of $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points. You won’t get the guns or key but at least you won’t miss out on “Girlfriend Mode“.
