3 Reasons Why Being A Geek Is The New Black Today!
We were hated for like forever. But then 2016 hit us once again with a large boot of popularity – the strike no one was prepared for despite all the bullying experience behind back. How did this happen? How did we become a culture above cultures by doing the same things we were in for years before?
The geek community was undesirable, to say the least. We have shifted from an unknown blink on the radar though and up to being this world’s number one in demand. How’d we pull off a stunt if the odds of success were relatively close to winning in all online casino games at once?
Apparently the shift took place simply because the modern-day era can’t live without the geeky genius. Do note that we will be talking about real geeks in this posts, not popularized Marvel or DC fan boys.
Geek VS Nerd
Yes, both of these social classes have experienced dynamic changes over the years. Both became more popular than local town quarterbacks or pretty-faced cheerleaders. But there is a huge difference. The nerds are simply the folk who enjoy stuff like comic books, Dungeons and Dragons and video games or whatever.
The geek, on the other hand, is a witty kid, smart with tech, computer sciences and engineering. A geek can be a nerd, but those things don’t collide as often as one might think. The earlier is popularized with media. The later – with actual demand.
Top 3 reasons to why Geeks are on fire!
Let’s quit the chase and get straight to the point, shall we?
- The Internet! This invention spins the gears of mankind today. It is displaying vast amounts of information. Knowledge is publicly available now more than ever. People learn, entertain themselves and even live online. And who do you think has created and keeps updating the internet as a whole along with separate pieces? The geeks!
- Rebellious spirit! Remember the cool kid back in the day with a leather jacket, cigarettes and a bike? He was a rebel. He opposed the system. So do the geeks today but on a larger scale. Digital solutions like Twitter or tech startups like Uber are the real revolution today. A revolution you create on a day-to-day basis!
- Knowledge is money. The statement was true earlier in the day for politics and secret services. They operated from the shadow by delivering preventive strikes. Today, knowledge is easily monetized. And who can be wittier than the geek in this domain?
These are the very reasons to why geeks are the new black today!
