Alicia Vikander, best known for her roles in films such as Ex Machina and The Danish Girl, will be adding another awesome addition to her filmography by portraying the beloved character Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot.
What we know about the film so far is that Roar Uthaug, known for The Wave and Escape, will be taking the helm for the upcoming Tomb Raider film which follows the story of Lara Croft before the booty shorts and sassy attitude. The plot of the film centers around the Xbox and PlayStation release of Tomb Raider in 2013 which was rebooted to emphasize the character’s “reconstructive origins”. Her first adventure into a new life tests Croft in ways she never expected and it is during her quest for survival that she finds out what she is made of.
The film is in pre-production phase and there are no new details at this time concerning a possible release date. There were early rumors concerning Daisy Ridley, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, being considered for the part but looks like that was all it was: a rumor.
