Filming is underway for the TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods and we have all of the information you need to get you pumped!

What is American Gods? It was written by famed The Sandman creator Neil Gaiman about a war brewing between the gods of old and new. The gods simply exist because we humans believed in them.  When immigrants first made way for America, they brought with them the lore of their cultures which manifested the gods and spirits into human form. The book is centered around Shadow Moon who is an ex convict. Moon is released early from prison and becomes the bodyguard of Mr. Wednesday who is Odin of the Norse mythology. Mr. Wednesday is on a mission to recruit the old gods who have increasingly lost power as their believers dwindle in numbers. Why is he recruiting? There is an epic battle between the Old Gods and New Gods billowing. The new gods are the personification of modern American life and technological dependence, consisting of Internet, Media, even the Stock Market.

The television series will air on Starz sometime in 2017. Neil Gaiman is lending his hand in the series as executive producer. Show runners Bryan Fuller (Star Trek, Hannibal) and Michael Green (Heroes, Green Lantern) have begun filming in Toronto, Canada, according to Screen Rant. Casting is listed below.
