Another iconic character from the DC Comics canon will be coming to life on The CW’s Arrowverse.
Lexa Doig will come on to the fifth season of Arrow as Talia al Ghul, daughter of Ra’s al Ghul, mother of Damian Wayne, and the very complicated on-and-off lover of Batman/Bruce Wayne.
Ra’s and his other daughter, Talia’s half-sister, Nyssa, played by Matt Noble and Katrina Law respectively, have already played huge parts on Arrow before. Ra’s was the primary antagonist for the third season of the show and even made an appearance on the first season of Legends of Tomorrow. Nyssa came on during the second season and has been a consistent figure throughout the rest of the show in a recurring role. Ever since their appearances, fans have wondered if and when Talia might rear her head. Well wonder no more.
Talia al Ghul for Arrow is described as “an elite warrior who doesn’t pick sides but rather creates her own.” She’ll make her debut on the tenth episode titled “Who Are You?” that is set to air sometime this December or next January. However that won’t be the only time we’ll be seeing her since Talia is slated to appear in multiple episodes and make a big impact this season. That’s saying something given how absolutely stacked the cast is for season five.
Doig is no stranger to TV herself having starred on Continuum and Andromeda and guest spots on The 4400 and Stargate SG-1. This isn’t even her first time in a DC Comics adaptation as she was on an episode of Smallville back in 2011.
Having debuted back in 1971 in Detective Comics #411, this will be the latest adaptation of the iconic character. She’s been voiced by the likes of Helen Slater, Olivia Hussey, Stana Katic, and Morena Baccarin in various animated TV shows and films and video games. Her most notable live action incarnation came in The Dark Knight Rises from 2012 played by Marion Cotillard. We even saw a much younger Talia in the same Legends of Tomorrow episode as Ra’s where she was played by Milli Wilkinson.
Not much is know of what Talia will do on Arrow so let the speculation begin!
