Game of Thrones returned on April 24th and one of the stand out characters this season is Arya Stark, Ned Stark’s daughter, played by Maisie Williams. She’s been a fan favorite on the show since it appeared and has won numerous awards since for her role as the character making her a hallmark in the show and one of the chosen few who have lived for all five seasons so far.
However, fame was not on her mind when she audition but something else was, she admitted to The Guardian:
The thing I was really obsessed about was whether I would earn enough money to buy myself a laptop. My step-dad Gary just looked at me and said “I think there’ll be enough for a couple of laptops Maisie.”
I’d say she got her wish. Still her fame and the money that comes with it has not been lost on her. She went on to say.
Suddenly I could pay for my own dancing lessons and school trips, all those things my mum had always paid for. I was able to help out.
Now that is a class act. It is good to see actors out there who remember there roots and can still have a little fun too. Game of Thrones premiers tonight and some people are even getting the day off, as we reported earlier this week.
