Tecmo’s new video game based off of the hit anime and manga series, Attack on Titan, was rumoured to see a February release date for US gamers exclusively on the PS4. February came and went and the NA/EU region still had no news about release. Now the speculation and wait is over. Koei Tecmo announced that the english version of the title that released in Japan earlier this year will be coming stateside August 30th.
According to the game’s publisher, the game will be based off of the first season of the anime. This is good news for the fans that have not read the manga due to the fact that the anime has been delayed time and time again allowing the gap between the in-manga story arc and the anime to grow exponentially.
Koei Tecmo is behind popular games such as Dynasty Warriors, Toukiden, Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden, and much more but the developers promise that the new Attack on Titan game will not follow suit with their earlier releases. This is a game true to the anime, the fans, and will truly stand on its own merit.
But with this news comes another surprise announcement. Previously, the game was supposed to be a PS4 exclusive but today Tecmo has announced that it will now be available across all platforms, including the PS Vita.
