The Batman To Now Receive a Fully Rewritten Script

Ben Affleck as The Batman

I think right now whenever a story about production troubles for The Batman comes out, everything just instinctively yells, “Get yourself together, DC!”

Ben Affleck is The Batman

Thus what brings us back to said story, there will now be a whole new script in place for the superhero film. Right now the latest problem to plaque the Batman spinoff film of the DC Extended Universe is overall production for the film might be delayed until next year, the time DC and Warner Bros. had planned to release the film and its due to director Matt Reeves’ commitment on finishing post-production of this summer’s War for the Planet of the Apes, as revealed by Justin Kroll of Variety.

But that’s not all, the film’s screenplay is also said to get a complete overhaul and be written from the ground up. The state of the script for The Batman was in doubt for a while, since Ben Affleck was set to co-write with Geoff Johns, but then Chris Terrio from Argo and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice came in. The screenplay was said to be well received among the offices, but Warner wanted to have a “fresh start.”

Right now from what it looks like, we’re not seeing The Batman until 2019, most likely in the summer.

No doubt some will be worried and upset at the news, but people should be hopeful since this film does have a capable creative director behind it that can bring something new to the adventures of the Caped Crusader.
