Maybe he should have brought his traffic repellent?
Though a Ontario highway is not known to be the first place to see the Dark Knight, drivers traveling on Highway 401 (near Napanee) on July 26th received a special treat… and by that I mean they were stuck in traffic for hours because Batman (dressed in complete Bat-Suit) had broken down in his Batmobile and was under the Bat-hood trying to fix the Bat-problem!
Not to worry fellow Bat-Mites! It wasn’t the REAL Batman, simply 39-year-old Stephen Lawrence, who goes by The Brampton Batman and attends charity/costume events with his costume and homemade replica Batmobile. It’s safe to assume he wears the costume and drives the car for fun on occasion as well… Wouldn’t you?
“I try my best to baby that car as best as I can,” Lawrence said. “It was fine, but it didn’t take long for traffic to build up, as it always does when Batman is around.”
The car, street-legal as it is by the way, often gets pulled over by officers and tourists alike who want to make sure someone isn’t completely off their Bat-rocker. No word on whether or not he has yet attracted an arch nemesis or two.
Turns out in the end it was just a loose hatch causing the noise her heard while traveling down the highway, but it gave lots of drivers a chuckle as they drove past while it lasted! What do you think… Would you like a Batmobile of your own?
