It’s here folks. The official gameplay trailer for EA and DICE Entertainment’s Battlefield 1, and it is glorious! The gameplay trailer was shown at EA’s pre-E3 event, EA Play.
From the trailer, we see World War 1 style ground combat including tanks, motorcycles, horses, and artillery trains. We also get a glimpse of the real time damage to buildings and the environment. During the presentation DICE discussed the destruction mechanics, which are to be more intuitive than ever before. Along with the destruction, unpredictable weather conditions will change the battle tactics on land, sea, and air.
Speaking of air, the aerial combat featured within the trailer is nothing short of epic. The war plane dog fights are amazing on their own, but that zeppelin bursting into flames and crashing into the town below was icing on the cake.
Battlefield 1 is scheduled to release on October 21, 2016. If you’re an EA or Origin Access member, you get access three days earlier on October 18. Pre-ordering will get you the Hellfighter pack which includes items related to the infamous Harlem Hellfighters as well as early access to new downloadable maps set to drop later this year and some other console specific bonuses.
