Benedict Cumberbatch to voice the Grinch in new movie

written by Shane "Geek" Lundberg April 14, 2016

From Khan, to Doctor Strange, to the Grinch…seems like natural progression right? During a presentation at this year’s CinemaCon, Illumination Entertainment showed off the new animated film based on the original Dr. Seuss classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Smaug himself will be voicing the animated green character while he steals all the Christmas toys from the Whos. During the presentation they revealed the below image.

We have seen a few different versions of this film over the years. My personal favorite was Jim Carrey as the small hearted Grinch. I can hear the voice of Cumberbatch though and I can already see it playing. Looks like the movie is slated for November 10, 2017 so we have a little more time to look for casting. Illumination Entertainment recently brought us all Despicable Me and Minions.

What do you think of Cumberbatch as the Grinch? Let us know in our poll below.

Be sure and check out the new trailer for Doctor Strange as well right here.
