Casting for Marvel’s upcoming series based around the Inhumans is gearing up as we now have three of the main characters from the Inhumans Royal Family cast now. First we heard that Iwan Rheon joined as Maximus, but he’s now gonna be joined by big brother Black Bolt and his queen, Medusa.

Anson Mount, star of Hell on Wheels from AMC has been chose to lead as Inhuman King, Black Bolt “a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word,” as said by showrunner Scott Buck, which is also true to Black Bolt himself as the character has a very destructive hypersonic voice in addition to be a skilled fighter and being able to manipulate particles.

Jeph Loeb said of the casting that, “Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently. His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”

By his side will of course be Medusa, who will be played by Serinda Swan, who portrayed Zatanna on the last couple of seasons of Smallville in addition to roles on Supernatural and Chicago Fire.

Medusa here is described as “Black Bolt’s most trusted advisor, a fiercely resilient warrior who has the ability to move and control her hair the way most people use their hands and fingers.”

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how Medusa’s hair will look on TV.

Loeb gave comments on the Medusa casting as well stating, “Serinda empowers Medusa’s regal glory and still maintains a relatability that synced perfectly with the character. She is nothing short of wonderful.”

Well that’s three down, more to go.
