BlizzCon 2016 Dates and Details

Blizzard Entertainment released 2016’s details today for the yearly gaming convention, BlizzCon. The convention itself is in November but the dates for purchasing tickets to the convention are April 20th and April 23rd.

In today’s press release, Blizzard made the announcement that the dates for the convention will be November 4th and 5th at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California. Mike Morhaime, Blizzard’s CEO teased his excitement:

“With more live games and upcoming content than ever before, 2016 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Blizzard gamers. We can’t wait to celebrate our 25-year anniversary with everyone during an epic weekend of gaming, esports, and great company at our 10th BlizzCon.”

This convention will be a special one, it marks the 25th year anniversary of Blizzards presence in the gaming world. This promises to be an extremely exciting celebration for convention goers with the promise of “an epic weekend of gaming, esports, and great company at our 10th BlizzCon”.


With the release of Overwatch, World of Warcraft’s expansion: Legion, and other exciting news – 2016 BlizzCon is sure to be an amazing experience for gamers. In addition to new releases, sneak-peaks, and their epic cosplay competitions, gamers will also be able to experience the Global Finals for Starcraft II, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, and other titles by Blizzard. Here are just a few of the things that Blizzard Entertainment is offering up:

  • Hands-on play time with Blizzard’s game library, including upcoming titles
  • World Championship series for renowned game series such as Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and Word of Warcraft
  • In-depth discussion panels with Blizzard game developers and artists
  • Community contests
  • Prize giveaways
  • Exclusive BlizzCon merchandise
  • And a constantly updating roster of activities and events

Tickets for this epic experience aren’t cheap, if you are looking forward to this event – prepare to drop at least $200 per person. Ticket sales will begin at 7 PM Pacific Time on April 20th and then again on April 23rd at 10 AM Pacific.


Blizzard Entertainment hosts a digital event for gamers that can’t make the event itself. By purchasing the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, you can enjoy parts of the convention from the comfort of your living room.
