Bungie Confirms Rise of Iron Leak

written by Jason Marcano June 9, 2016

Hot on the heels of the leak, during the Bungie live reveal stream of Destiny’s soon to be released expansion, Rise of Iron, they confirmed all earlier leaked information among other details. The juiciest bit: the return of Gjallarhorn!

Gjallarhorn, a fan favorite, will be available in a sleek black to those who pre-order Rise of Iron which is set to be released September 20th.

The stream also showed off an amazing new trailer for the expansion:

As you can see, the trailer confirms the new raid, new Crucible maps, a new social space akin to the Tower, and much more.

There is going to be a new enemy faction called “The Devil Splicers,” and all new bosses. Bungie describes them as:

Every Fallen House has Splicers – body hackers and bioengineers, these Splicers meld flesh and machine. The Devil Splicers are loyal to the House of Devils, and they now have the ultimate technology – SIVA. They are using it to transform themselves. Instead of worshiping machine gods, the Devil Splicers will *become* machine gods.

Bungie is going all out to make this expansion as awesome and meaty as possible, and is promising to reveal even more info and possibly game play at E3 later this month.

E3 is turning into a can’t miss event packed with so many amazing games and reveals, and think: we’re getting all this info on this game and more BEFORE E3, so who knows what surprises are in store for us during the weekend of June 14-16th. It’s hard not to get giddy thinking about it all.

So, how hyped are your geeks now? Ready to jump back in Destiny and start taking out Fallen with the newly upgraded Gjallarhorn?
