New Kid on the Block
Caffeine has just joined the streaming world and is already making waves. So what is it exactly? It’s a video game streaming platform, just like Twitch. This new platform offers up a new competitor to the Twitch giant who has yet to see any major threats. The biggest feature and threat to Twitch is that Caffeine offers real-time streaming. That means you can join a game with a streamer and go right up to them and see yourself as you’re playing.
Other platforms have a massive delay between the broadcaster and viewers — sometimes a full minute! Since Caffeine is insanely fast, you won’t be waiting for reactions. You’ll be having frictionless conversations powered by our proprietary chat system that surfaces the best reactions to create a meaningful and unique experience for each user.
The service is in pre-release now and should be coming out with the full feature app soon. Unfortunately, as of right now the service only works on PC gaming and mobile platforms. But I’m sure as it gains traction, it will jump to consoles. Even if the PC master race doesn’t want it to.
How will this affect Twitch?

It has become a massive market and there are now hundreds of thousands of YouTube Channels and websites dedicated to video-game streaming. There have been a few attempts to overthrow Twitch through the years including one by Microsoft’s Mixer. But none have been able to take over the growing market. Will this be able to topple Twitch? Only time will tell, the real-time streaming, and “Broadcasting Made Dead Simple” is enticing but as more users are added these features may be affected. They are teasing more features to come;
We’re just getting started and have plenty of surprises on the way.
I can’t wait to see what they come up with.
