Last year, Bethesda surprised us all with the announcement of Dishonored: Definitive Edition but blew us all away when they showed the world they had Fallout 4 ready to rock. Now it’s that time again and we’re wondering what could they possibly have up their sleeves?
We have E3 nipping at our heels and Bethesda has their own extravaganza scheduled for Sunday. For the past few weeks speculation has been high as to what we can expect from them.
The biggest rumor and one I’m actual ally afraid of just because I don’t know where I’ll find the time, is a Skyrim Definitive Edition. Now I have hundreds upon hundreds of hours sunk into the Xbox 360 version of Elder Scrolls V, so a remaster for Xbox One would send me into a drooling fit. I don’t care what some people said about it, it sits comfortably in the top three games of the last gen.
What else though? Surely Bethesda won’t spend a whole conference on a remaster. Something that is more surprising and altogether super shocking is that we may see Prey 2. The sequel has been often canceled and revived, going through developers as it tries to find its footing. If you don’t remember Prey, that’s OK. The game came out very early in the Xbox 360 life cycle and tasked players with escaping an alien ship after being abducted. You also needed to track down your girlfriend before she became alien experiment number 1,001 or so. The game was hella fun and the graphics were hailed as being as ahead of their time. I’d love to see a right proper sequel.
As far as sequels go, there is chatter that Bethesda could also bring out follow ups to two of their more popular games, Wolfenstien and The Evil Within. Both games had people talking which is always good but had gamers interested. Evil Within was of particular note as it brought true survival horror back to gaming. It gave a quite a few jumps and scares to even the most steely and jaded players. We will expect more from the sequel. Maybe have have one of our editors wetting her pants.
E3 is right around the corner geeks and like last year, Bethesda will most likely bring their A game. We’ll keep you posted on all the good stuff. What do you expect from Bethesda? Anything other than this? Don’t like what’s been rumored? Comments below, use them before they get you first!
