Marvel is really on a role these days trying to play catch up on TV with DC. Back in December we learned about Krysten Ritter getting the title role in A.K.A. Jessica Jones, and just last week they announced a new cast member, one that is familiar to many of us.
Carrie Anne Moss, probably best known as the ass-kicking Trinity from the Matrix trilogy has signed on to the series. They haven’t however told us what her role will be. All they have told us about the role is that she will play “a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica…if Jessica doesn’t completely alienate her first.”
That gives us a lot of leeway on characters. Jessica Jones has a lot of exposure to various superheroes, but I’m guessing we can leave them behind and find ourselves a more mundane character that will be her supporting backbone. The only one I can think of is Kat Farrell, a reporter for the daily Bugle.
The other possibility, is that they rewrite things, in typical Marvel fashion, and give her the role of Danielle. In the original story lines Danielle is the daughter of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, they could do something with her.
Jessica Jones retires from her short-lived superhero life in New York City and while trying to piece her life back together she decides that she can still help people by becoming a private investigator. The cast list so far is rather impressive Melissa Rosenberg as the title character, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, David Tennant as Dr. Zebediah Killgrave and Rachel Taylor as Trish Walker. So who will Carrie Anne Moss be portraying?
