A Geeky Game Review- Castlevania Lords Of Shadow:Mirror Of Fate

The Castlevania game series has spanned many generations of consoles since its debut in 1986 on the NES. The legendary series recently brought the battle of the Belmonts vs Dracula to Nintendo’s 3DS with Castlevania Lords Of Shadows: Mirror Of Fate. Konami graciously sent a copy of the game to Don’t Hate The Geek and I had the pleasure of checking it out.
Mirror Of Fate is a direct sequel set 25 years after the most recent reboot, Castlevania Lords Of Shadow. It focuses on Gabriel Belmonts descendants and will effectively set up events of the upcoming Castlevania Lords Of Shadow 2. However, I found the 2D side-scrolling action-adventure Mirror Of Fate, closely resembles the classic Symphony Of The Night more so than the more open and blatant action adventure of Lords Of Fate.
In all honesty, the story of Mirror Of Fate, as well as most Castlevania games is not its strong point. And by that I mean it just tends to play second fiddle to the gameplay. Which is not to say there aren’t great moments of Belmont family history and one that comes to a boiling point in a knock down drag out battle of father and son. Amidst a week of releases that sees the “rebirth” of Lara Croft and Sim City, comes Castlevania Lords Of Shadow: Mirror Of Fate for the 3DS. Mirror Of Fate starts off telling the story of the Belmont family 25 years after 2010′s Castlevania Lords Of Shadow. Relive the saga of the Belmonts as they battle destiny to reveal their shocking fate.
As Trevor Belmont, a knight of the Brotherhood of Light and son of Gabriel, your goal is to avenge your mother’s death that happened at the hands of his father. Complicating matters is the fact that what was once Gabriel Belmont has been replaced by a vampire known as Dracula. Dracula has waged war on the Brotherhood, thus paving the way for an epic battle between father and son.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Poised To Invade America

The Monster Hunter series has sold over 22 million copies world-wide, most of them in Japan. In an attempt to increase sales in the US, Capcom is set to unleash Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate just three short months after its Japanese release. Monster Hunter 3 Utimate will be arriving stateside on March 19, for both the 3DS and Wii U.
The Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will get a software patch in April that is in response to community feedback. The update will include online cross-region functionality which will allow gamers in the US to play with European gamers online in battles of up to four players. Online gameplay is free with an existing broadband Internet account.
The future software upgrade will also add off-TV play so players can play MH3U using just the Wii U Gamepad. Capcom also intends to give players additional free quests for several months after it’s release, including a launch day quest.

Castlevania- Lords Of Shadow Mirror Of Fate Demo Coming Soon.

Konami has announced that a playable demo for Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow-Mirror Of Fate will be available for download via the Nintendo eShop on February 28. Mirror Of Fate is the hotly anticipated 3DS exclusive arriving on Nintendo‘s handheld console, March 5.
The free demo will spotlight the game’s intense whip combat as well as the stunning visuals of Mirror Of Fate. Players will control Trevor Belmont as he does battle against the creatures and Minions of Dracula’s fortress. Guide Trevor in mastering the combat cross, inflict pain with the boomerang, collect hearts and knight scrolls as well as fight to the death against the powerful executioner.
Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow-Mirror Of Fate takes place 25 years after the events of Castlevania Lords Of Shadow and sets up the story of the upcoming Lords Of Shadow 2, which will be available on PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. Mirror Of Fate will tell the story of Gabriel Belmont’s descendents, Simon and Trevor who discover that their destiny will lead them to a shocking fate.
