Last Updated on Monday, 7 May 2012 11:52 Written by LoganDX Friday, 20 April 2012 01:00
The Kinect is awesome by all the ways it can used beyond the typical Xbox 360 gaming. Minority Report future, here we come! We’ve spent plenty of hours watching YouTube videos dedicated to creative hacks of the motion sensing powerhouse, awed by the minds much geekier than ours. Sure Milo was neat but come on, using your fingertips to control a robotic claw? Mega geek hack!
We heard about a new one that combines functionality and uber geek into a new way to gamble. Our peeps over at PokerListings dialed us into an interesting way to spend your paycheck and keep your butt from getting too big. Full motion poker geeks! Instead of staring at your monitor, exercising that single index finger, you can get up and really raise your bet.
The University of California‘s Institute for Creative Technologies built FAAST (Flexible Action and Articulated Skeleton Toolkit) which tracks skeleton movements via the Kinect and other programs like OpenNI. To do this, you’re gonna need both – okay all three. Plus you’re going to need the Kinect drivers for PC and a macro program to hotkey this bad boy! Want to dig in and show those other poker players how to do it “geek style”? Hit the break!

Love bacon enough to scarf down 1,050 slices? [VIDEO]
Last Updated on Thursday, 19 April 2012 11:30 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 19 April 2012 08:19
Bacon is the food of the gods. It brings its meaty goodness to plenty of dishes, making everything better – everything! Burger King has decided to let us spruce up our burgers with an extra dose of bacony love for a small price. 15 slices for $1.25 exactly. Willing to test the bounds of bacon borders, a Japanese reporter ordered 1,050 slices for his Whopper. That’s a lot of pork toppings!
The brave fellow was only able to gobble down about half of his spectacular bacon bomb before the pork sweats claimed his soul. Half is still close to 500 slices of greasy swine bounty festering in his gut. At minimum he must have swallowed down 30 pounds of the best meat ever to come from a farm animal. They made sure to make a video of his attempt and failure. The mountain of meat he tried to ingest equated to 2.5 iPhones high and the wrapper had more grease on it than on a teenager’s face.
Hit the jump to check it out for yourself, if you dare!

The iHangy by OnTrion is a handy way to keep your iPhone/iPod close to you at all times. It slots in just like the Apple cable does (i.e. at the bottom of the product) and is easy to insert or remove by simply squeezing the two ends together. And as products go the iHangy is quite discreet yet stylish with the clip a deep metallic purple. It may look good but is it any good I hear you ask? Well.
The iHangy is a great idea in essence- keep your Apple product handy at all times. While demoing this product it was quite useful, saving me having to dig through my pockets or my bag to find it. Similarly, I can imagine the iHangy being great for going abroad where there may be a risk of have your phone swiped from your pocket. The necklace especially was particular useful because it was long enough so that my phone could sit nicely in the inside pocket of my jacket pocket, resulting in a stylish modern day pocket watch effect everytime I took my phone out.
