As we have previously reported, the rumoured title of the next Call of Duty is said to be called Infinite Warfare and will reportedly include the remastered versions of the beloved Modern Warfare series. This particular rumour is even more solidified now that we know Activision has taken the next step in trademarking the title “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare”. You can find the entire list of trademarks filed with the United States Patent & Trademark Office here.
The video features a man who claims to be a part of a group called the Settlement Defense Front that will be the “architects of your pain”, a grim message from a very grim figure. With a futuristic and interactive background to the speaker, this is does spark interest into what Infinite Warfare could bring to the franchise, especially with the return of the fan favourite Modern Warfare games.
“Make no mistake, we will rip you from the history books. Every last trace of you, gone. You will know loss. We will be the architects of your pain. We will build monuments to your destruction. The whole world will bear witness to this: our ascension. We will blot out the skies, we will bury you in darkness. Know this, and know us. We are your enemy. We are the Settlement Defense Front.”
Furthering the speculation of the next step for Infinity Ward (the minds behind Modern Warfare) and the Call of Duty franchise as a whole is Red Sox pitcher David Price tweeting a picture with CoD apparel showcasing the symbol that dropped as an Easter Egg yesterday in Black Ops III Nuketown supporting the video above. He even lovingly hashtagged it for us: #COD2016
