If you’ve been paying attention, it is fairly clear that we here at Don’t Hate The Geek are pretty stoked for the release of Blizzard’s Overwatch. Now that it is officially out and fully playable, the good news keeps on coming for players indulging in the latest shooter, especially regarding competitive mode.
Game Director Jeff Kaplan announced today that Competitive Play, ranked mode, will be available in mid-to-late June with the game’s first big update. During this Q&A by Blizzard, Kaplan addressed community questions, concerns, and confirmed some exciting news for the franchise.
You’ve seen several animated shorts about popular characters in-game such as Hanzo and, more recently, Soldier 76. Blizzard confirmed that these wonderfully intricate videos will continue into a second season including the grappling badass Roadhog. Maybe we’ll even get a look at the rumored new character, Sombra.
If you haven’t already, make sure to check out the new title which is out now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
