Clueless Gamer could be it’s own show
Conan O’Brien is slowly taking over TBS. There have been discussions to move his late night show to a once a week format to accommodate Conan’s growing role as a producer on multiple shows on the network. He already produces the comedy People of Earth, and the upcoming animated series Final Space, both on TBS. He may be adding even more to his production resume, with his hit Internet series, Clueless Gamer, being developed as a spin-off series at the network too.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with the series, Conan started reviewing video games as a funny “service” to his fans. He then started introducing celebrities that were almost always equally as incompetent as him at the games.
Turner Entertainment chief, Kevin Reilly, had this to say in an interview with Variety about the idea of the Clueless Gamer series being it’s own show:
“Next month we’re going to go into production on a new series called ‘Clueless Gamer,’ based on one of [O’Brien’s) viral videos,” Reilly said in the interview. “Celebrities play videos and he makes fun of them. It’s really broken out. We’ve had companies sending us their games pre-release.”
The show hasn’t gotten a series order yet, but it’s been stated that Conan will not be hosting the show if it’s picked up by the network. I definitely think there’s some potential to make it an entertaining show if it’s done right.
What do you guys think? Is Clueless Gamer worthy of its own series at TBS? Who would you like to see host the show, or what format would you like to see? We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas, so join in on the conversation in the comments below and tell us what you think!
