Confirmed PS4 Games for 2016

written by Jessica "RavenPwnz" D. April 24, 2016

The year 2016 is promising for PS4 with all the confirmed exclusive games that will be released this year. There’s a great range of titles from huge like Street Fighter V and the highly anticipated Horizon: Zero Dawn and some smaller (but equally awesome) titles like Hellblade, which I’m personally excited for and Alienation. Take a look at the epicness that will ensue this year

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is an indie game developed by Ninja Theory which takes you on a quest as Senua, a celtic goddess, all while battling personal demons and severe mental illness in a Hellish environment.

Paragon is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) by Epic Games. It’s similar to quite a few MOBA‘s such as Smite, or League of Legends where the player teams up to travel to the other side of the map and take out towers, and enemy players.

No Man’s Sky will release in June 2016 (as will the PC version of the game). It’s an open world undertaking where players can explore the surfaces of different planets and the uncharted territory they house.

Neir Automata is a sequel to the game Drakengard developed by Platinum Games. The game takes you through an invasion of machines, in which the only hope for humanity is retreat to the moon. The game is strongly set on a machine that was sent by humanity to ward off the machines.

The Last Guardian is finally being released after years of delay. This title was originally announced at the 2009 E3. Currently working on the game is SCE Japan Studio and genDESIGN and no official release date has been announced.

Gran Turismo Sport is a racing simulation game in a long standing line of solid racing games and will go above and beyond by adding a feature using the PlayStation VR.

Gravity Rush 2 is the sequel to the 2012 game Gravity Rush and is moving to a bigger platform. The original was released on the PS Vita. Gravity Rush 2 will feature awesome upgrades with combat skills and power-up and a system that will allow you to switch from Kat to a new edition named Raven.

Firewatch is a single player game in which you play Henry,  a volunteer fire lookout at a National Park, whose sole form of communication to anyone is a walkie-talkie. He is strangely intrigued by the offbeat and otherworldly occurrences of the wilderness.

The Witness is a long awaited game that has a very similar feel to Myst. It’s an open world filled with puzzles and riddles in order to advance. It’s definitely a critically thinking type of game.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End  the conclusion to the infamous Nathan Drake is coming! New to this edition of the game will be dialogue choices to further customize your gaming experience. This title is due to drop April 26th.

What Remains of Edith Finch is a first person game that puts the player in the role of Edith, a girl who is a part of a family filled with secrets. The adventure takes place in an old family owned house in which you have to uncover.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is an open-world RPG created by Guerrilla Games. It was announced at E3 in 2015 and has been a highly anticipated gaming title. The setting takes place in dystopic society in which man has once again clung to tribal life all while being terrorized by a futuristic enemy.

Boundless is a Minecraft styled survival game in which you can team up with others to build, collect and survive the open world. The difference? You get to play with portals! This game is already released through Steam’s Early Access.

Alienation allows you to team up with 3 others in order to go toe-to-toe with invading alien forces. It is being developed by Housemarque.

Drawn to Death was directed by the creator of Twisted Metal David Jaffe. This is a third person team based shooter in the style of basic drawings that have been discovered in the notebook of a teenager.

Dreams is an enthusiastic game in which you can create and build “dreams”. Media Molecule is the company in charge of designing the game, their bigger game title being Little Big Planet. Although it is expected to release this year, it has not been confirmed.

Shadow of the Beast is remake of the 1989 game of the same name. You play as Aarbron, a warrior who is hellbent on revenge against the evil lord that claimed his father’s life.

Street Fighter V is looking to stray away from the classical aspects of the prior releases and liven up the series with 16 playable characters and enhanced character moves. This game will be both for PS4 and PC.

Ratchet and Clank is a reboot of the 2003 game by the same title. The release of the game was perfectly (and purposely) timed with the new movie. Prepare to travel through space to save the galaxy from the evil Supreme Executive Chairman Drek.

Persona 5 is the fifth in the series in which you in control of a group of teenagers that happen to be expert thieves and steal from The Palace, an mysterious castle created from twisted desires.

MLB the Show 16 is another installment in the series, this time involving more refined controls and dives and allowing you to slow time during the middle of game play to obtain more control during crucial plays.

The Tomorrow Children is an open-world online game in which you team up with others to build a town and save it from various monsters. The design of the game is unique in pairing a builder type game (such as Minecraft or Terraria) with a post-apocalyptic setting.

Is there anything on the list that makes you giddy or glad you own a PS4? Hit up the comments and let me know!
