The man himself, Stephen King, has officially announced that Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba will be starring in the upcoming film adaptation of King’s book “The Dark Tower”.
The movie has been a long time coming suffering from many set backs along the way but it looks like those hardships are over as McConaughey prepares to take on the role as ‘The Man in Black’ opposite of Elba who will be undertaking the Gunslinger.

Nikolaj Arcel will be fronting this project alongside Mr. King. He is known for his amazing work on projects such as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and A Royal Affair. King told EW this about the process:
“The thing is, it’s been a long trip from the books to the film. When you think about it, I started these stories as a senior in college, sitting in a little shitty cabin beside the rive in Maine, and finally this thing is actually in pre-production now. I’m delighted, and I’m a little bit surprised.”
I am excited to see how The Dark Tower Rises progresses and seeing how the team compiles such an intricate (and long) story-line into the film medium. With such an amazing crew but onscreen and behind the scenes, it will definitely be an exciting time for Stephen King fans worldwide.
