Dead Rising, the game in which players beat zombies to death with “personal massagers,” is turning 10 this year. In celebration of a decade of zombie slaying Capcom is bringing the three games from the Dead Rising series to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this September.
The Dead Rising Triple Pack will include Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2, and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. However, these three together will only be available as a digital bundle. There will be a physical release of the remasters, but it will only be of the first two games. For no clear reason, Off the Record will not see a physical disc release. The digital bundle will set gamers back $59.49, however if you pre-order now it will only cost $49.99. The downloads for all three games will go live September 13th.
As for the physical versions? They will only be released in North America, and as mentioned, only the first two will be available. They release on September 13th and 27th respectively. As for what makes these versions different than their last gen counterparts only upgraded graphics, 1080p, and 60fps are mentioned.
The Dead Rising series is known for its gory yet comical take on zombie slaying. Giving gamers obscure weapon combinations to take out the zombies infesting the small town of Willamette, Colorado. The game gives players a limited amount of time to rescue survivors, find out the truth about the zombie infestation, or just goof off and suplex the undead.
This is the perfect time for PlayStation and Xbox owners who may have missed out on the franchise to jump in. Capcom is hard at work on the fourth game in the series which they showed off at E3 this year. DR4 will revisit everyone’s favorite photo-journalist, Frank West.
Are you geeks ready to return to Willamette and disembowel some Zombies, maybe even take a few selfies? Are you just done with Zombies? Let us know if you’ll be picking up the Dead Rising Triple Pack on September 13.
The Triple Pack is also coming to Xbox One, but the special discounted price of $49.99 is only available to PlayStation owners who pre-order soon.
