Well, well, well, what do we have here? Why it’s another Netflix original! There were over 50 titles released just last month. It seems these originals are bringing in the bucks, so they might as well add another. Luckily, they will! Netflix announced that a dark comedy called Dead to Me will be coming to your screens.

Will ‘Dead to Me’ Be Worthy of Our Viewing?

This “dark comedy” will be starting us off with 10 episodes. Will Farrell and Adam McKay are among those working on this series, as executive producers. Comedy is familiar to Will (e.g. the Anchorman films). However, dark hasn’t been his go-to. Netflix describes the show:

A dark comedy about a powerful friendship that blossoms between a tightly wound widow and a free spirit with a shocking secret.

Adam McKay has joined Will Ferrell on shows such as LA to Vegas and Drunk History. Liz Feldman will be joining these fellas, as an executive producer, writer, and showrunner. Liz has previously worked on 2 Broke Girls and The Great Indoors. Netflix originals have been getting lots of hype, so the pressure is on.

What Else Is New in the Netflix Zone?

Binge watching shows on Netflix is the new norm. Stranger Things, a Netflix original, is up there with the most binge-worthy of series. To reach the levels Stranger Things has met, Dead to Me will have to push the limits. Will it pull the feels out of its viewers and become their new “you have to watch this!” recommendation? We’ll see.

Recently, Netflix has been adding some talked about shows. The End of the F***ing World was released on January 5, 2018, and has gained some traction since. Along with the eye-catching title, this show follows two teens who decide to go on a road trip. One of the two teens believes he’s a psychopath, which certainly adds to the show. This series has its comedic moments, but is dark, nonetheless.

Will, Adam, and Liz are adding a show to the sea of what Netflix has created. I wonder what will set this dark comedy apart from what has already been added. So, what have been some of your binge-worthy watches? Does Dead to Me peak your interest? Let us know in the comments!
