Disney Ignored George Lucas’s Ideas for “The Force Awakens”

glucasGeorge Lucas, who was working on a new trilogy before selling the rights to Lucasfilm, admitted to USA Today that his ideas were dismissed by Disney.

Lucas gave his notes and vision to Michael Arndt, who was the first screenwriter to work on the project. When J.J. Abrams came on board as director, he didn’t jive with Arndt’s vision.

Lucas said about his ideas,

““The ones that I sold to Disney, they came up to the decision that they didn’t really want to do those,” said Lucas. “So they made up their own. So it’s not the ones that I originally wrote [on-screen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens].”

As a Star Wars geek, I wonder what ideas by Lucas they scrapped…the world may never know.
