Ok … can we all just take a moment to appreciate this for a second? Because I feel like this needs a moment of appreciation. The hilarious YouTube channel, ZaziNombies, are no strangers to making amazingly accurate replicas from video game favourites in the past but when they decided to take it to the next level of epic by recreating Doom’s amazing BFG 9000, I died of happiness a little bit inside.

With hype around the latest Doom title still on the rise, it was the perfect time for ZaziNombies to tackle this impressive feat. With some of their other replicas in the past, they were able to draw from 3D models and other ways to make sure that the weapons are done entirely to scale. This one however? This project was done entirely off of their own approximation and some extreme dedication. And I’ve got to admit, these guys did a phenomenal job!

“It’s not the most practical weapon, but then it was never designed to be something you carried around for very long.” This was probably one of my favourite weapons in the Doom series, aside from the Vortex Rifle that made it’s appearance in the multiplayer side of Doom 4 and the Chaingun in the original game. This series will always have a special place in my heart looking back in fondness at the progression of the games and with the new title around the corner, seeing the BFG completely lego-fied just makes my child-like wonder explode in a shower of rainbows and pure delight.

Make sure you check out their full video at the top of the page, trust me – you won’t regret it.
