Duncan Jones, the director of the upcoming film Warcraft, which is based on the popular PC game by the same name opened up about what father David Bowie felt about the movie. It’s been a difficult journey for Jones, since during production his wife had been recovering from breast cancer and his father David Bowie passed away. However, Jones was able to show Bowie a sneak peek of the highly sought after film.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, Jones had this to say:
“I showed him an early cut of [Warcraft] and showed him some of the effects shots. You know, for everyone else he was one person. For me, he was my dad. And he was always interested in things I was working on. So I showed him what I was working on, and he was all excited for me and happy that I was doing the thing that I enjoyed doing in my life.”
Well if that doesn’t pull on the heartstrings, I don’t know what does. Warcraft will house actors like Travis Fimmel as Anduin Lothar, Paula Patton as Garona, Toby Kebbell as Durotan amongst many others. The film also follows the opening of the dark portal and the Orc invasion of Azeroth. Warcraft is due to be released to theaters June 10th, 2016.
