May 4th – the day when Star Wars fans around the globe come together under the universal love for this epic inter-stellar franchise. It is also the perfect time for developers and publishers alike to announce any news that relates to the series and EA did just that with their announcement of a new game based in a galaxy far, far away from the developers of Titanall; Respawn Entertainment.
EA wasted no time in cashing in this optimal period of anything Star Wars related as we are still dizzy about the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. EA, Entertainment Arts, unveiled that they will be producing an “all-new third person action adventure game” with God of War III director Stig Asmussen at the helm.
Surpringly enough, EA is being pretty mum about the release despite announcing that they will not have a main stage presentation at this year’s E3 Press Conference. Patrick Soderlund, Executive Vice President of EA Studios, also dropped a pretty exciting hint about the future of Star Wars in gaming by saying this:
“[Respawn] joins our other great studios – Visceral Games, DICE, Capital Games, BioWare, Motive, and more – who are currently working on Star Wars projects of their own.”
That is all we know at this time but stay tuned with DHTG as we continue to bring you the latest and greatest in all geek-dom news.
