Rumors have been buzzing lately about Sir Elton John, the world famous musician, being cast for a role in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which will be the second movie in the franchise.
Sir John took to Instagram with a parody poster for the film that includes a pair of his iconic glasses and the words “Wednesday Night’s Alright for Fighting”, which is a play on his song “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting”. The caption for the photo read “It’s been a long time since Tommy…..#Kingsman”. This caption is referencing his role in the 1975 musical film Tommy.
Set to reprise their roles, Taron Egerton will be back as Gary “Eggsy” Unwin, and Mark Strong will again play Merlin. Joining the cast will be Halle Berry as head of the CIA, Channing Tatum who was spotted a few days ago on set looking quite dapper, and Julianne Moore is being pinned as the main villain.
Matthew Vaughn is back to write and direct the sequel which has a release date of June 16, 2017. The first movie, Kingsman: The Secret Service, did very well at the box office last year bringing in over $414 million world wide. The franchise is based on spy comic series written by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, originally named
“The Secret Service”, which was launched in 2012.
I thought the first movie was done really well. It was very engaging, entertaining and exciting! I’m looking forward to the sequel, are you?
