Fans Petition to have Quentin Tarantino Direct Deadpool 2

written by Jordan Cobb October 26, 2016

The news of Tim Miller exiting Deadpool 2 over creative differences with Ryan Reynolds, which itself is rumored to be over who each wanted to play Cable, has made some fans pause and wonder as to what this means for the impending sequel.

Obviously someone who can understand the character and the source material and work with Reynolds is just what Fox needs to find in their replacement. Well one fan certainly thinks there already is a perfect replacement.

Carl Champion Jr. took to Change.org and started a petition to have Quentin Tarantino step in for Miller. Champion’s petition stating,

“If there was ever a chance to see Tarantino do a project almost guaranteed to make a billion dollars, this is it. We got a great taste of what this could be like in Kill Bill, but imagine having a guy like Tarantino write dialogue for The Merc with the Mouth! It would be so glorious. Join me! .”

As of right now over 1,000 people have signed the petition.

Champion himself in an update on the page went into more detail as to why he thinks Tarantino should direct Deadpool 2. Saying that Tarantino’s writing and Reynolds’ delivery style would be a good match and he also cited The Dark Knight and the Marvel Cinematic Universe for how they blend the superhero genre with another in their own films and TV shows and that Tarantino himself is a master of doing that. He further added,

“Tarantino makes ultra-violent movies where you love the characters, with horrible language, sexy women, and a villain you will NEVER forget. Tell me Marvel doesn’t need another one of those.”

Pretty strong case, but lest we forget, Tarantino tends to do his movies in his own vision and many online have stated that as well and expressed that they don’t think this would be a good match for either Fox or Tarantino.

What do you think of this? Do you think Tarantino should direct Deadpool 2 or not? Who do you think should direct it? Let us know in the comments below!
