If you were like me, you have pretty much made it through all eight episodes of The Defenders this weekend, then you maybe stayed through the credits of the finale. If you didn’t well you missed the first teaser trailer for the next Marvel installment on Netflix, The Punisher. Don’t worry though, we of course have got you covered and you can see the teaser for yourself below!
Now for me this does the job of a good teaser. We do get snippets of the footage that has been shot for the show, but we’re not given too much this year right now. I think the imagery of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle himself smashing the concrete with a sledgehammer and the reveal of the Punisher logo is powerful enough with the imagery and narration. That and all the blood and bullets he spilled throughout Daredevil season 2.
The latest adaptation of the infamous anti-hero looks to be the most anticipated given the previous movie adaptations weren’t that well received by both fans and critics. When Bernthal first appeared as Punisher in the second season of Daredevil, fans and critics then did rejoice as it looked like someone finally knew how to truly adapt the character properly. Afterwards Netflix announced plans for a solo series for the character.
I am excited myself given the character has had some of the best and most interesting runs in Marvel Comics and if what was shown in Daredevil can translate into its own series, it will be a blast.
If you want a little more Punisher to hold you over until the show debuts later this year, you can find many great stories here!
