Disgusting alien crature poking through the shadows.

FoxNext has announced that they have bought gaming studio, Cold Iron Studio, and has big plans for their next game. Just last year, FoxNext was created by 20th Century Fox after the success of Alien: Isolation, and the mobile game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out. Fox was wanting to jump into the gaming industry with the promise to create unique user experiences and top of the line games for the next generation. It seems the first official game of the acquisition has been announced to be an RPG science-fiction shooter based in the Alien universe.

This will be the first full game featuring the Alien franchise since 2014’s Alien: Isolation game which was a hit among fans. How the last game integrates into the new game (if at all) is still one of the many questions fans have been asking since the announcement made on January 17. Considering FoxNext specializes in multiple platforms, including virtual reality, we can expect that this game will be incorporating the latest forms of user experience tools out there.

Cold Iron Studio has 25 employees and was started in 2015 by three industry veterans who have worked such games as Metroid Prime, Bioshock, Neverwinter, and City of Heroes. They are located in Silicon Valley and seem to be ready to take on such a big title.

The launch date or any other information has yet to be announced. But if you would like to get some kind of taste, there is the recent add-on to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands where you can go up against the Predator. But to be honest, I think it would be even cooler to have the opportunity to be the Predator. Am I alone or do you have different expectations for the next installment?
