written by Jordan Cobb July 10, 2017

Months ago it was surprisingly announced that Freeform had picked up a series based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the New Warriors and many have wondered who would portray the teenage superheroes and no longer should they worry as they have been found!

The 10-episode superhero comedy series will be headed up by AT&T commercial spokesperson and star from Other Space, Milana Vayntrub as the ever popular Squirrel Girl and Derek Theler as Mister Immortal. Joining them will be Jeremy Tardy as Night Thrasher, Calum Worthy as Speedball, Matthew Moy as Microbe, and Kate Comer as Debrii.

Showrunner Kevin Biegel said of the casting that, “I am thrilled beyond belief to be working with this incredible group of actors. They are funny, sincere, eager, charming and perfectly embody these characters. It’ll be a blast and an honor to create this show with each of them.”

In addition, executive producer Jeph Loeb said that, “We’re so lucky to have assembled such a diverse and incredibly talented cast. We can’t wait for the fans to see what’s in store when we unleash these iconic characters into the world!”

Launching sometime next year, New Warriors will be the second Freeform and Marvel collaboration after Cloak and Dagger as they attract younger audiences to their product with more of their youth base characters.

Senior VP of Casting and Talent at Freeform Elizabeth Boykewich said about the casting, “At Freeform, we are committed to finding distinct and entertaining characters that our audience can enjoy and relate to. We are excited to be working with Marvel Television to bring these fiercely average super heroes to life and watch them take on the world.”

Well our actors have been found, now let’s hope the show delivers.
